week one

54

i've spent a good chunk of the last 4 years of my life PREGNANT. and while there were certain aspects of my pregnancies that I embraced (like feeling the baby kick and the boobs!), the last thing I wanted was to be captured on camera. My face was too round. My chin was pregnant with quadruplets instead of the twins it normally totes around. My toes were sausages.  My rear-end looked the saddest it's ever looked and is still in recovery. Just typical pregnant lady things that I never wore quite well.  Not like these pregnant ladies I photograph atleast... I feel like they could all be pregnancy cover girls!

i am trying to get back to the point where i feel comfortable in front of a camera because i already feel a lot of regret for not having these photos of myself to look back on.  i am starting small, with a picture of myself and my handsome nicky bobby and not even of our faces... and hope to get atleast one photo with myself in it a week.

considering my other self-challenge is to get down with tony horton once a day, this should be quite managable. which one is more painful is still a toss-up...though i feel trying to explain aperature and shutterspeed and framing a shot to nick may be the biggest challenge of all! ack!

wish us luck

  1. Did you know that I only have 1 picture of me (and it's only of my belly early on) pregnant with Lilly and 0 so far of this pregnancy and I'm almost halfway through it. And I couldn't tell you the last time I saw a picture of James and myself.

You've given me a resolution missy..

  2. I am always trying to get myself in more pictures. It hit me HARD when I was going through our two days (48 HOURS) of Christmas pictures and I realized that I wasn't in a single picture. Not one, single picture.

I think my husband needs to pick up the camera! Good luck with your challenge. I think you can do it!

  3. i hope to see more pictures of both of you pretty ladies... solo shots and with your babes! find a local photographer and make the investment. i was just going through old family photos i've taken over other families this past year and wanting to smack myself for not having them done myself.
