home sweet couch potatoes

it never fails... every year around the time american idol comes back on air, my family is struck by the ugliest stomach bug. I won't go into much detail, but I do remember last year this virus was nicknamed, "pants on the ground". If you are an american idol fan true and through, you know exactly what i'm talking about. if you are not... well, neither are we (no cable over here), but i am sure you get the gist of things...

haley is presently camping out on the couch with her gatorade mustache and watching back to back cartoons. i decided to home-y up the place for her by adding the dream catcher she made at storytime yesterday, some valentines, and a picture cameron drew for her... a little wall of happy things to nod off to as she falls asleep. it's the little things that pull us through, right?

not pictured: fancy schmancy puke bowl, endless fruit snacks and wrappers on the floor, piles of crayons and coloring books, miles and miles of mommy magazines scattered about, every toy and piece of clothing we own, a destructive 1 year old tearing up the place and her "scotch tape incident" i hardly have the energy to tackle.

lord help us, it's been a long week and it's only wednesday!

  1. Oh I can relate. My 14 month old got sick last Monday, I thought she was teething but nope!... full blown out cold that caused a double ear infection and an endless fountain of snot (seriously endless, you know what I mean!)... she's still sick (a week later!) and graciously passed it on to me. I have a double ear infection as well. There are no words to describe my house. We are in survival mode right now. I hope your little ones get better soon! Your blog is so so sweet. I've read it for years but never really commented. :)

Oh, and to answer your question - I do love the book. I definitely think it is worth a purchase!
